International cricket’s premier short-form competition has returned with Polygiene® partner TYKA selected as the official apparel supplier for the tournament.
All match official uniform and tournament staff clothing, tracksuits and masks are treated with Polygiene ViralOff™ and OdorCrunch™ technologies. Polygiene treatments ensure that garments, gear and textiles stay fresh and last longer.
Based in India, TYKA is one of the market’s leading developers, marketers and distributors of branded performance sports wear and accessories. The company specializes in the development of high-performance gear with an emphasis on sustainability. Founded primarily as a kit partner for cricket teams, TYKA today serves more than 2500 cricket, football, rugby, basketball and netball teams across the globe.
It is the seventh staging of the competition, originally scheduled for 2020 but postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The tournament is being held in the United Arab Emirates with matches staged in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai with the final on November 14 at Dubai’s International Stadium.
The tournament, one of the largest ever held in international cricket, promises high octane entertainment and will offer 10,000 hours of live coverage across TV and digital outlets featuring the world’s best teams and most exciting players.
Polygiene CEO, Ulrika Björk, said: “This is a big step for our Indian partner TYKA and we are very proud to be part of this and share the same goal to reduce the environmental impact of apparel. The size of the global cricket equipment market was USD 264 million in 2020, and we see a big potential going forward.”
