Biomaster at SOFHT Campylobacter Conference

Biomaster will be showcasing antibacterial solutions for the food industry's most pressing problem at a Campylobacter Conference in March.

The conference is being organised by the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology and takes place at the Holiday Inn, High Wycombe on 19 March.

SOFHT, recognised as a source of leading industry experts, is holding the conference to give retailers, manufacturers and enforcement officers an insight into what work is being conducted to reduce the incidence of Campylobacter along with a review of the Food Standards Agency survey results and good hygiene practices that will help drive down contamination root causes.

Campylobacter, an organism found in almost two-thirds of all chicken sold, is responsible for an estimated 460,000 cases, 22,000 hospitalisations and 110 deaths in England and Wales every year.

Representatives from the FSA, Bernard Matthews, Sealed Air and the University of Bristol will be presenting at this conference and will provide an opportunity for a question and answer forum.

As we await the Food Standards Agency updated survey results, retailers are looking for new packaging formats to reduce levels of Campylobacter and processors look for new initiatives for sustainable reductions in contamination. Biomaster offers a technically advanced, safe, effective and minimal-cost tool in the fight against the dangerous bug.
